Gold Medal Ales are produced monthly
in recognition of some of the 'greats' of history. In November 1954 H.H. Hancocks half hour first panted out over the airwaves. Written by Galton and Simpson and starring Anthony Aloysius St. John Hancock, the lad himself, it broke through the BBC’s music hail style comedy barrier to create the first British situation comedy. In various forms it ran until 1963 and included such gems as the test pilot, the blood doner and many many more. So stone me, drink an armful and enjoy the memories. |
